Mango Melee in St. Croix: A Juicy Celebration at the Botanical Gardens


Every summer, St. Croix comes alive with the color, flavor, and energy of Mango Melee, and this year was no exception. Held at the lush St. George Village Botanical Gardens, Mango Melee 2025 was a sweet blend of community, culture, and (of course) all things mango.


Despite a few rainclouds, the vibe was electric. Families, creatives, foodies, and visitors gathered on the garden paths, ready to taste, explore, and celebrate.

The Mango Madness


One of the best parts of the day was hands down the mango eating competition. Watching contestants dive into piles of fruit with the crowd cheering them on? Pure joy. As a local photographer, capturing those messy, determined, and hilarious moments was a highlight of the day.


Food, Flavors & Community Vibes

This year’s lineup of vendors and creatives brought serious flavor and flair. A few of the standouts:


  • Common Sense Drinks – Their mango slushies were a must-have in the heat.
  • Frontline Bar and Restaurant – Roasted corn that had folks coming back for seconds.
  • Mutiny Island Vodka – Dropped a limited mango-infused batch that had people buzzing.
  • Bleu Chocolit Workshop, JEMS Holistic, Akyve the Mixer, Havitowah Apparel, and more kept the local creativity flowing.
  • Abbie Leung-Massicott on steel pans gave the whole garden a dreamy, island soundtrack.


Everywhere you looked, there was something mango-inspired: drinks, desserts, jewelry, artwork, and even body products.
