On Thursday, August 28th, something special sparked to life in Christiansted: The first-ever Link-Up-Lounge in St. Croix took place at Levels, and it was more than just another networking event; it was the start of a movement. As a St. Croix photographer, I’m always searching for the island's authentic energy, and I found it here in a space buzzing with collaboration, creativity, and genuine connection.
The evening managed to feel both energetic and effortlessly relaxed. It was a sophisticated gathering where conversations flowed as smoothly as the music, bringing together some of the most innovative Virgin Islands Creatives under one roof. The purpose was clear: to create a space for local entrepreneurs and professionals to connect, collaborate, and grow together. For a community where opportunities to meet face-to-face can be rare, this event felt both necessary and inspiring.
Highlights of the Night
The atmosphere was electric from the moment you walked in. Hosted by the energetic Keva Muller of Muller Media, with a perfect soundtrack curated by D'Shay, the vibe was set for an evening of meaningful interactions. While the whole night was a highlight, one moment truly stood out
A Powerful Panel Discussion
The centerpiece of the evening was a powerful and informative panel discussion featuring Tohera Durand, T.K. Petersen (Cofounder of The Gathering Spot), and Felix London (Founder of DPMNM). The panelists shared invaluable insights, but their core message was about the profound importance of giving back to the community. They spoke on how reinvesting in our home is the only way to ensure it thrives and creates more opportunities for locals.
A statement from T.K. Petersen resonated deeply with me and the entire room: “Living WELL in the Virgin Islands is my birthright and I intend on living that way!” As someone born and raised on St. Croix, those words hit home, reinforcing a shared sense of pride and purpose
Community and Connection
An event like this isn’t complete without incredible local flavors. The light hors d’oeuvres for the evening were provided by the talented Tenisha Doward of Sweet & Spicy Sensations. It’s always amazing to see local vendors sharing their craft and contributing to the community atmosphere.
What makes the Link-Up-Lounge so meaningful is that it fills a crucial gap. It’s a dedicated space for the faces behind the brands to meet, share ideas, and build partnerships that can create something new and beautiful for the island.
The Start of Something Big
This was the very first Link-Up-Lounge, and the excitement for what’s to come is palpable. I'm already looking forward to covering the next one on September 25th. The organizers plan to hold this event monthly, giving everyone a consistent opportunity to connect. Just imagine the energy during the Christmas and Carnival seasons when so many locals return home!
This is exactly the kind of event that showcases the vibrant spirit of St. Croix Events. The Link-Up-Lounge 2025 series is poised to become a cornerstone for our creative and professional community
St. Croix never disappoints when it comes to culture, community, and celebration. If you’re planning something special or want your event documented with Event Photography, let’s connect. I’d love to be part of your next story.
